
About NUS NPCC .177 Air Rifle Shooting Championship 2012
NUS NPCC will be organizing its 7th Air Rifle Shooting Championship. This championship serves as a suitable enrichment for the cadets as a complement to the NPCC training syllabus, and also provides an avenue for the various units to hone their shooting skills and enhance the cadets’ exposure to competition-level air rifle shooting.
All current members of NPCC (cadets, Cadet Inspectors, Officers), NPCC Alumni and NPCC HQ staff are invited to form teams of three (3) to participate in the Championships in the following categories:
- Cadets – Boys
- Cadets – Girls
- Officers/ Cadet Inspectors – Men
- Officers/ Cadet Inspectors – Women
Officers/Cadet Inspectors are allowed to participate as individual under Officers/Cadet Inspectors categories; however, they will not be eligible for the team prizes. All members of a team must represent a common organization (School Unit, Open unit, Area, NPCC Alumni or NPCC HQ).
The NPCC Council Challenge Shield was introduced in the NUS NPCC .177 Air Rifle Shooting Championships 2009. The shield, representing the highest honor of the competition and will be awarded to the cadets’ team with the highest score.
Objectives
Through this event, the Organising Committee hopes to:
- Encourage units to incorporate air rifle training as an enrichment activity in their NPCC training syllabus, in accordance with MOE CCAB’s policy
- Encourage the youth of Singapore to take up shooting as a sport
- Promote interaction between NPCC units in Singapore
- Promote sport competitiveness among individuals and teams
Competition Format
The competition will be adopting the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) competition rules.
Refer to Annex A for explicit rules and regulations.
The Championship shall consist of twenty (20) competition rounds on ten (10) competition targets, fired within a time limit of forty (40) minutes. There will also be a dry fire preparation time of five (5) minutes before the start of each detail. Each shooter will also be issued with one (1) sighting target for unlimited sighting rounds

Competition Fees
A nominal fee will be collected from every individual and team upon registration. Only payment by cash is accepted. All payment is strictly non-refundable. The fees for the Championship are as follows:
